An Evening With The Artist: Tony Centonze

Clarksville, TN – River City Clay had the opportunity to host a fundraiser for Empty Bowls on November 26th, 2022. This event showcased work by local photographer Tony Centonze along with a silent auction. The silent auction allowed Clarksville photographers and businesses to help with the fundraiser.
River City Clay will be joining other Downtown Clarksville businesses in the monthly First Thursday Art Walk. Their first show, featuring photography by Tony Centonze, will be on Thursday, December 1st.

Customs House Museum and Cultural Center celebrates Art of Clarksville Collection

Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, September 15th, 2022 local Clarksvillians gathered to celebrate history being made in the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center. James T Mann formed a collection of local artists from over the years.
This exhibit will be on display until October 26th at the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center.
“This collection today celebrates one person’s dedication to assembling local artwork that is Clarksville’s themed. This happened beginning in the early 1980s until 2005 and Jim Mann was responsible for making this happen today,” Frank Lott mentioned.

Montgomery County Parks and Recreation to hold 100 Year Celebration for South Guthrie Community Center

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Department will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Warfield School, presently known as South Guthrie Community Center, from September 8th through September 10th.
On the first day of the 100-year celebration, September 8th, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, Executive Director of the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center Frank Lott will share his extensive knowledge of the architecture of Rosenwald Schools and the renovation to revive the South Guthrie Community Center.
Custom House Museum’s Flying High unveils Signature Artwork, Kitty Harvill’s Painting “Peg’s Pony”

Clarksville, TN – Every year for Flying High, the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center’s largest fundraising gala, one local artist is commissioned to be the “Signature Artist” to produce a unique and original work of art to be sold as the highlight of the event’s live auction.
This year, recently-returned Clarksvillian Kitty Harvill has provided an emotionally-charged watercolor that makes a lasting impression, while also paying homage to her mother’s legacy with the Museum.

Clarksville, TN – After over a year-and-a-half of planning, the long-anticipated, heart-thumping, high-octane exhibit Start Your Engines! A Celebration of Racing in Montgomery County is open at the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center.
The exhibit is sponsored by Tri-Star Beverage and MPG Transport and spans across several galleries within the Museum.

Customs House Museum & Cultural Center announces Saturday Hours, Big Payback Fundraiser

Clarksville, TN – April showers bring May flowers, and beginning May 1st, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center will be back in “full bloom” as it resumes its Saturday schedule.
The Museum will resume pre-COVID hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00am–5:00pm and Sunday 1:00pm-5:00pm and will no longer close for one hour at mid-day during the week.
