Rivers and Spires 2012 Miss River Queen and Miss River Teen Crowned at Austin Peay State University

Rivers and Spires Festival 2012Clarksville, TN – Tara Zolfagharbik has been named Miss River Queen 2012, while Caitlin Campbell will reign as the new Miss River Teen. The new title holders were crowned at the pageants held Saturday, March 24th at Austin Peay State University’s Clement Auditorium.

The pair will reign over the Rivers and Spires Festival in downtown Clarksville, April 19th-21st, making numerous appearances, signing autographs and participating in Festival events.

Montgomery Central High School Varsity Cheerleaders win 4th Straight National Champ

Montgomery County High School IndiansMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery Central High School Varsity Cheerleaders won their 4th straight National Championship this past weekend at the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, FL.

They competed against 15 teams from across the country in the Small Varsity Non-Tumbling Division.

Cheer for Cure Raises $5,000

Montgomery Central High SchoolCunningham, TN – The “Cunningham Cheer for a Cure” Cheerleading Competition, held at Montgomery Central High School last Saturday, raised more than $5,000 for the Stella Bertz Breast Cancer Organization.

Teams attending were Montgomery Central High School Cheer, West Creek High School Cheer, Smyrna High School Cheer, Calloway County High School Cheer, Cheatham County High Dance and Montgomery Central Middle Dance.

Rivers and Spires promises a full weekend of fun!

The Rivers and Spires FestivalIt is spring time again, and April is upon us. That means one thing, Rivers and Spires is just around the corner! The free three day festival will be held on April 15th-17th. It brings people from across the country to Historic Downtown Clarksville to enjoy some of the best entertainment, unique arts & crafts, and the distinctive culture our city has to offer.

The festival this year promises to be bigger and better than ever! With many new events, big name performers, and three days of non-stop fun, there is something for everyone!

In 2009, more than 35,000 people filled the streets of Clarksville for the free 3-day event.
