APSU School of Nursing receives AT&T Foundation grant

Austin Peay State UniversityWith the help of a $10,000 Communication Foundation Grant from AT&T, the School of Nursing at Austin Peay State University will develop an intervention program for upper-level nursing students pursuing their bachelor’s degrees.

Lanie Johnson, regional director of external affairs at AT&T, presented the grant during a reception held July 21st at APSU.

Funding for Dunbar Cave State Park Interpretive Center

$400,000 approved for design of educational elements within the Park

Members of the Montgomery County delegation won approval of $400,000 in state funds for the design of the Interpretive Center within the Dunbar Cave State Park. Rep. Joe Pitts (D-Clarksville), Rep. Curtis Johnson (R-Clarksville), Rep. Phillip Johnson (R-Pegram) and Sen. Tim Barnes (D-Clarksville) worked with Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers and the Montgomery County Commission’s Legislative Liaison committee, chaired by Commissioner Mark Banasiak, to secure the funds.

“This is an example of everyone being in the same harness, pulling together for a project that will have significant impact for our citizens,” said Pitts. “The new exhibit will strengthen an already popular attraction in our state and add educational value for students across the region.” [Read more]
