Summer Youth Program Under Way, Filling Up Quickly

Summer Youth Program to begin June 6th

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Summer Youth Program will begin June 6th with the opening of program sites and will end July 15th.

The Summer Youth Program is a six-week day camp-type program that is offered each summer to youths, ages 6-16. Gyms at various locations are staffed with directors and assistants, who will help with playtime activities and provide free, instructional classes such as dance and karate.

Clarksville Senior Olymipics 2011Clarksville, TN –Senior adults ages 50 and up can register now until May 2nd for the 2011 Clarksville Senior Olympics. This year’s events will be May 4th-7th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, Kleeman Community Center, The Pinnacle Bowling Center, and Burt-Cobb Community Center.

Seniors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in more than 20 challenging events, which include shuffleboard, tennis, track, golf, bowling, basketball free throw, pickle ball and billiards. Because we now have the Indoor Aquatic Center, swimming events have been added. [Read more]

City of Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department lines up activities for annual egg hunt

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The annual Spring Eggstravanganza will be back on April 23rd at Heritage Park Baseball Fields. The fun begins at 2:00pm with kids in four age groups hunting more than 30,000 eggs, hoping to find the one golden egg. The special egg entitles the finder to a free week session of swim lessons at one of Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s pools. “Pay it Forward” service project to come to Fort Defiance

Kleeman Community Center to host Senior Prom

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The Kleeman Community Center is hosting the Quick Silver Social of the season. The Senior Prom will be held March 19th at 5:00pm at the Kleeman Community Center. Suggested attire for the Senior Prom is “after 5.”

This event is free of charge and open to those ages 50 and up. The Kleeman Community Center is located at 166 Cunningham Lane.
