Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan introduces Summer Night Lights Program

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, in conjunction with the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and the Clarksville Police Department, is introducing a new program for youth and their families. Summer Night Lights is an eight week program, which will run from June 14th through August 3rd on Thursday and Friday nights.

The program will take place at two locations. On Thursdays, the event will be held at the Kleeman Community Center, 166 Cunningham Lane, from 6:00pm–9:30pm. On Friday evenings, it will take place at the Burt-Cobb Community Center/Dixon Park, 1011 Franklin Street, from 6:00pm–10:30pm. [Read more]

Clarksville City Councilwoman Kaye Jones makes donation to Manna Cafe

Clarksville City Council - Ward 11Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Councilwoman (Ward 11) Kaye Jones donated hundreds of scarves, hats and gloves to Manna Cafe today.

Ms. Jones stated that last winter when they were so badly needed, she had to purchase them at full price, but by buying them at closeout in June, she was able to get a tremendous deal thanks to Kmart on Madison Street.

“I was so excited to be able to do so much more than last year, and they will be receiving new before worn items, which is a real treat!!

Third Annual Hilltop Super Market Barbecue Cook-off Is A Resounding Success

Hilltop SupermarketClarksville, TN – The Third Annual Hilltop Barbecue Cook-off featured 12 teams competing in four categories for top prize of $250.00 plus a trophy. Second prize was $75.00 with a trophy and third prize was a plaque. Each judge rated the chicken, pulled pork, ribs or beef brisket for taste, appearance, and texture on a scale from one to ten.

The winner for the Pork category was Double A's; head chef Andy Alberd.

Hilltop Market’s 3rd Annual BBQ Cook Off started Friday night

Hilltop SupermarketClarksville, TN – The smell of BBQ was in the air as hundreds of people gathered at Hilltop Market Friday night for the start of their 3rd Annual BBQ Cook Off. The Back Lot Pickers featuring Donald and Lucian Greene were on hand providing the music. Food was available by Manna Café as well as samples of BBQ.

The BBQ cook off began this morning so make sure to come out and taste some of the best BBQ around.

Hilltop Super Market’s 3rd Annual BBQ Cook Off is this Weekend

Hilltop SupermarketClarksville, TN – Hilltop Super Market will hold their 3rd annual BBQ Cook Off May 11th and 12th, 2012. On Friday night, there will be a car show, live music, and food. Saturday, the BBQ Cook Off begins.

There will be cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishing teams as well as trophy prizes. The Categories this year include ribs, chicken, pork and brisket. The pork and brisket categories have been added this year.
