Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Christmas on the Cumberland returns to McGregor Park

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announces that the banks of the Cumberland River will once again be lit with over a million dazzling lights as Christmas on the Cumberland, presented by Blue Cord Realty, returns to McGregor Park Riverwalk.
The grand opening will be on November 22nd from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at McGregor Park Riverwalk and Museum. The official lighting ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the lights being turned on shortly after.
The family-friendly event will include:

Free cookies for the first 400 are provided by Chealsey’s Cookie Jar.

Dance performances by Cast & Crowns and Natalie’s Dance Network.

Food vendors Countryside Coffee, Green Plantain LLC, Sassy’s, Poppin’ in the City, and Big Kahuna’s Island Grill LLC.
Following the grand opening, the light display will be open nightly through January 2nd, 2022.

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s popular lighted walk through event, Christmas on the Cumberland continues now through January 1st, 2020. Bring your family, relatives and friends down to the McGregor Park RiverWalk to enjoy the festive lighting displays.
Christmas on the Cumberland is open nightly from 5:00pm-10:00pm, Sunday through Thursday and 5:00pm-11:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays through January 1st, 2020.
Admission is free.

City of Clarksville set to construct Pedestrian Bridge over Red River

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville has announced that it will complete a 10-mile hiking and biking trail linking the City’s downtown riverfront with Northeast Clarksville.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced Clarksville will receive a $1.82 million federal Transportation Alternatives Project grant for construction of a pedestrian bridge over the Red River.

Heavy rains swept through Clarksville early Friday, pushing the Cumberland River to flood stage, covering McGregor Park’s two outdoor stages and forcing Clarksville Parks and Recreation to close the park.

City of Clarksville uses state grants to continue Greenway
Clarksville, TN – Construction has begun on a another downtown section of the Clarksville Greenway, which ultimately will create a 10-mile hiking-and-biking trail connection between the City’s core and Heritage Park in Northeast Clarksville.
The latest section is known as the River Trail Red River Section and extends north along the Red River from the RiverWalk in McGregor Park to the Highway 41A bridge at Providence Boulevard.
