Montgomery County Health Department receives Green Certification

Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Health Department became a Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified organization last week.
The Health Department is looking out for the health of our community as well as the health of our community’s environment. On Tuesday, May 28th the Health Department celebrated their CMC Green Certification with a green ribbon cutting ceremony.

Tim Shaw appointed Director of Montgomery County Human Resources

Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Mayor’s Office is pleased to announce that Tim Swaw has been selected as the new Director of Human Resources. He has most recently been serving as Human Resources Manager for a local industry since 2007.
Swaw has a diverse background, working in not only the human resources supervisor role, but also serving in employee relations and benefits roles throughout his years of employment.
Montgomery County and City of Clarksville Mayors Sign Safe Boating Week Proclamation

Montgomery County, TN – A National Safe Boating Week Proclamation was signed on April 30th, 2013 by Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers, and City of Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan declaring May 18th thru May 27th, 2013 a special week, as the busy season of water activities begin and the public participates in many water based recreational activities.

Montgomery County Horseshoe Pits Ceremony Postponed

Montgomery County, TN – Due to the predicted inclement weather, Montgomery County Government will postpone the Grand Opening Ceremony for the Horseshoe Pits at Civitan Park until Saturday, June 8th at 9:00am. More event details will be released closer to the event.

Montgomery County to hold Grand Opening for Horseshoe Pits at Civitan Park

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government invites the public to the Grand Opening Ceremony for the Horseshoe Pits at Civitan Park on Saturday, May 11th at 9:00am.
The horseshoe pits are located on the backside of the baseball fields at Civitan Park, 650 Bellamy Lane. The ceremony will also include the rededication of the Marvin Smith Pavilion.

Clarksville Montgomery County to hold Vietnam Veterans Breakfast in honor of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam War

Montgomery County food drive for Manna Café

Montgomery County – Montgomery County Government recently held a food drive to benefit Manna Café. During the month long drive, over 2,600 pounds of food was collected, as well as a $500.00 cash donation.
Thank you to all of the employees and citizens that donated during this time.

Kenny York accepts a $500.00 check from Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers as part of the County food drive for Manna Café. Besides the cash donation, the county raised over 2,600 pounds of food.
Clarksville’s Downtown for the Holidays happens today

Clarksville, TN – The 6th Annual Downtown for the Holidays celebration presented by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, in Downtown Clarksville, is Saturday, December 1st, 2012.
The event kicks off with the Jingle Bell Jog 5K hosted by the City of Clarksville and Run for a Reason. The 5K race will begin at 8:00am, in downtown Clarksville.
At 4:00pm, join the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government as they host activities for the whole family. Enjoy free hot chocolate on Public Square and caroling on the County Square. [Read more]
53rd Annual Christmas Parade happens Saturday, December 1st

Clarksville, TN – The 53rd Annual Christmas Parade will be a night-time, lighted Christmas parade and is scheduled for December 1st, 2012 beginning at 5:00pm.
This year’s parade will feature both the Austin Peay State University Governors Own Marching Band and the Tennessee State University Band, dozens of businesses and organizations, as well as Santa Claus.
The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government have partnered with Agero to host the parade.
