City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Hosting 52nd Annual Christmas Parade

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville has partnered with the Montgomery County Government this year to co-host the 52nd Annual Christmas Parade. The parade will be a night-time, lighted Christmas parade and is scheduled for December 3rd starting at 5:00pm.
The Christmas parade is an event for local businesses, schools, and organizations to showcase their Christmas spirit. This year’s theme is “Home for the Holidays”.

Montgomery County, TN – The Downtown Decorating Contest will be a continued tradition in the 5th Annual Downtown for the Holidays celebration presented by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, in Downtown Clarksville on December 3rd.
The contest is open to downtown businesses from University Avenue to Riverside Drive. Businesses can show their holiday spirit while vying for the title of Best Window and Door Display, Most Creative Use of Lights or People’s Choice. [Read more]

Clarksville’s 5th Annual Downtown for the Holidays

Clarksville, TN – Be a part of a Clarksville tradition by celebrating this year at the 5th Annual Downtown for the Holidays celebration presented by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, in Downtown Clarksville, December 3rd.
The event kicks off with the Jingle Bell Jog 5K hosted by the City of Clarksville and Run for a Reason. The race will begin with a one mile fun run at 8:00am, followed by the 5K. Montgomery County Receives ARRA Grant

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government was recently awarded an American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) grant of $100,000. This grant will be used by two county departments for a total of three projects.
The Highway Department will be retrofitting seven traffic signals from incandescent light to LED lighting. This will increase the bulb replacement cycle from 12-18 months on an incandescent bulb, to seven to eight years on an LED. Replacement costs, including installation, will amount to $25,245.93 and have an estimated annual energy savings of nearly 864,000KWh and an annual estimated GHG reduction of more than 800 metric tons of carbon dioxide.
