Montgomery County, TN – On Friday, September 6th, 2019, the Downtown Commons’ Downtown @ Sundown Concert series continues from 7:00pm-10:00pm. Christian rock group, Awaken will perform at 7:00pm, with rock group Sedona taking the stage at 9:00pm.
Join us for a night of FREE music and fun. Food and activity vendors will be on hand and other food is also available in several of the downtown restaurants.
Celebrating a Tennessee Triumph: New monument to honor Clarksville’s suffragists

Clarksville, TN – On a July afternoon in 1914, more than 75 people crowded into a house on Madison Street for a meeting of the newly established Clarksville Equal Suffrage League.
The women who joined the league that afternoon spent the next six years facing ridicule and threats of violence in the pursuit of their goal – earning women the right to vote.
Downtown @ Sundown to feature Logan Mize this Friday

Country singer/songwriter, Logan Mize will headline with local group the Tennessee Pluckers opening the night. Mize has been touring the country since 2009, and his latest album, “Come Back Road” was released in 2017.

Visitor Spending in Montgomery County Tops $244.7 Million in 2018
Clarksville, TN – Montgomery County saw the second-highest growth rate in tourism spending of all 95 Tennessee counties during 2018. Direct travel spending increased 9.12% over 2017, for a record-high of $244.7 million.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Department of Tourist Development Commissioner Mark Ezell announced Tuesday that the state hit a record-high $22 billion in domestic and international travel spending, up 6% from 2017.
111th Lone Oak Picnic has fantastic turnout

Cunningham, TN – Last Saturday, July 27th, 2019, the Central Civitan held the 111th Annual Lone Oak Picnic at the Central Civitan Club building located at 275 Highway 13.
This free event featured live music, inflatables for the kids, face painting, silent auction, a car cruise in and off course the BBQ the picnic is famous for.
Great day, great crowd, great weather, one hundred and eleven years of doing this and going strong,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson. “This is one of the biggest and best organized community events that I have ever been to in Montgomery County. Talking to other Sheriffs that go to events across the state, they say the same thing.”

Clarksville Arts & Heritage seeks Artwork Submissions for 2020 Calendar

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts & Heritage Development Council (AHDC) is putting out a call to artists who are interested in having their work featured in the 12th annual Cultural Calendar. Each month will feature an artist’s work and highlight upcoming arts and heritage events.
Submitted work will be juried to determine which piece is featured each month, as well as which artwork appears on the cover. As in years past, calendars will be available through AHDC’s website, as well as in the Customs House Museum’s “Seasons” gift shop and other locations around town.
