111th Annual Lone Oak Picnic set for Saturday, July 27th

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 27th, 2019, the 111th Annual Lone Oak Picnic will be held from 10:00am to 2:00pm. It will take place on the grounds surrounding Central Civitan Club’s building at 275 Highway 13 in Cunningham, TN. Free parking will be off of Alonzo Place.

Free and open to the public, the Picnic will include musical entertainment from father-son duo Back Lot Pickers and other musical guests. Children will enjoy inflatables and face painting. A car cruise-in and silent auction will round out the entertainment.

USO Show Troupe opens Downtown @ Sundown at Downtown Commons, Friday

2019 Downtown Commons’ Downtown @ Sundown Concert SeriesMontgomery County, TN – The next Downtown @ Sundown Concert is this Friday, July 19th, 2019. The USO has partnered with Downtown Commons for a spectacular event.

The USO Show Troupe will open the night at 7:00pm with an arrangement of classic Americana songs. Country acoustic artist, Andrea Guess jumps on at 8:00pm with the USO Show Troupe returning around 9:00pm to rock out the night with some upbeat jams.

2019 Downtown Commons’ Downtown @ Sundown Concert SeriesMontgomery County, TN – Friday, July 5th, the Downtown @ Sundown Concert Series will take place at 7:00pm at the Downtown Commons.

Come out to Downtown Clarksville for a night of Free music and fun. Local power house, Tina Brown Band, will take the stage at 8:00pm with a variety of new and old R&B and soul music.

Food and activity vendors will be on hand at Downtown Commons. Delicious food is also available in several of the downtown restaurants.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – On Tuesday, June 11th, 2019, the Clarksville Montgomery County Green Certification Program held a green ribbon cutting to welcome Thurman Campbell Group (TCG) as the newest Green Certified organization.

The event was attended by Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett, Program Manager Carlye Sommers and Program Board Members Daryl Pater, Haley Randell, Gene Fish and Doug Jones as well as by TCG staff.

Family of four to receive keys to new Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County home

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – On Sunday, June 9th, 2019 at 3:00pm, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County will dedicate its 97th Clarksville-area home at 115 Edmonson Ferry Road.

The new homeowners, Overlia Williams and Mario Owens, applied for the home in April of 2016 and following approval of their application, performed over 500 sweat equity hours on their home and the homes of others to qualify for the program.

Kroger becomes Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – On Tuesday, May 28th, 2019, a green ribbon cutting was held to recognize Kroger as the latest Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified organization. The certification covered all three Kroger stores in Clarksville (Dover Crossing, Madison Street and Lowes Drive).

Those in attendance at the Green Ribbon Cutting were Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett, Montgomery County Chief of Staff Kyle Johnson, Program Manager Carlye Sommers and Program board members Daryl Pater, Haley Randell and Doug Jones.
