Google Rolling Study Halls Happening in Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools

Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) is excited to announce its Rolling Study Halls pilot program in partnership with Google and the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation.
Rolling Study Halls is a Google-funded initiative that seeks to improve technology access and extend learning to the after-school space. By powering school buses with WiFi and providing educator support, Rolling Study Halls is helping students across the US—especially in rural communities—access more learning hours outside of school.

Montgomery County, TN – On Saturday, April 28th, 2018 more than 400 people came out to the annual Clarksville-Montgomery County Great American Clean-up event. Participants cleaned up litter in various areas of the community from the industrial park to downtown.
The event is promoted through the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce and organized through Bi-County Solid Waste Management.
Tennessee State Representative Jay Reedy to speak at APSU Military and Veteran Graduate Recognition Ceremony May 2nd

Clarksville, TN – Tennessee State Representative Jay Reedy, a U.S. Army veteran and Austin Peay State University alumnus, will be the guest speaker at APSU’s Spring 2018 Military and Veteran Graduate Recognition Ceremony and Coin Presentation next week.
The ceremony, set for 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 in the Morgan University Center Ballroom, honors Austin Peay’s graduating students who are either veterans, National Guard, reservists or active-duty military personnel.

Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Tennova Healthcare. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.
The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.
Clarksville Association of Realtors to host Appetite For Art, April 28th

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Association of Realtors® (CAR) will host their 11th annual FUEL fundraiser, Appetite For Art, on Saturday, April 28st, 2018.
This event will include a “farm to table” dinner at The Ruby Cora (2300 Gunn Road, Adams, TN). The dinner will include food from local farmers and vendors, and will showcase artwork from Montgomery County students.

The CarMax Foundation and KaBOOM! Kick Off “Weeks of Play” to Celebrate Military Families.
Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County will host an event for military families to unveil its new Imagination Playground™ on April 21st, 2018. The community will come together to use the new creative play product at the Downtown Commons.
This celebration is one of several events happening across the country during The CarMax Foundation’s “Weeks of Play,” in partnership with KaBOOM!, to make play more accessible to kids of veterans and military families. Events are taking place during this time frame because April is the month of the military child.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts & Heritage Development Council invites organizations seeking funding for artistic and cultural projects that benefit the community to apply for an Arts Build Communities grant.
Arts Build Communities is a program funded by the Tennessee Arts Commission through Specialty License Program sales and administered by the Clarksville Arts & Heritage Development Council in cooperation with the Tennessee Arts Commission. ABC grants offer financial support for arts projects in all disciplines such as dance, music, opera/musical theatre, theatre, visual arts, design arts, crafts, photography, media arts, literature, interdisciplinary and folk arts.

Each of these accomplished educators earned the profession’s highest mark of achievement through a rigorous, performance-based, peer-review process, demonstrating their proven impact on student learning and achievement.

Montgomery County, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County School System says Pisgah Elementary School has one big lesson for us all – spread love and kindness!
According to organizer Leanna Sleigh, from February 6th to February 16th, 2018 students, parents, faculty, and staff collected food for animal shelters during their Pisgah Loves Pets food drive.
