Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, September 21st, 2016 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Tennova Healthcare. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.
The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.

Austin Peay State University engineering technology students excel at state conference

Clarksville, TN – Three students in the Austin Peay State University Department of Engineering Technology recently earned top honors at the 125th Tennessee Academy of Science Meeting, held in Murfreesboro, TN.
APSU student Nicole Kirch won the first prize in the engineering and engineering technology posters section, with her paper titled “Comparison of the effectiveness of various filters on audio signals.” Kirch worked with Dr. Na Zhu, APSU associate professor of engineering technology.

Clarksville, TN – The new Walmart Neighborhood Market in Clarksville opened to the community Wednesday, October 14th, bringing a broad assortment of fresh, affordable groceries at Walmart’s everyday low prices.

Mobile Mammography Coach coming to Hilltop Supermarket Saturday, September 6th

Clarksville, TN – The Saint Thomas Health Our Mission in Motion Mobile Mammography Coach will be at Hilltop Supermarket’s parking lot this Saturday, September 6th, 2014 from 9:00am until 3:00pm.
The coach provides mammography for women who cannot afford the time away from work for appropriate screenings. It also helps women with no insurance through support from organizations like Susan G. Komen.

Montgomery County recognizes Lisa McClain for Dedication to Community Education

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government congratulates Lisa McClain, Driver Safety Administrator, for being selected as Technician of the Year by the Tennessee Child Passenger Safety Center.
Lisa was recognized for her exemplary work ethic and performance, along with her commitment and dedication of child passenger safety education and on her efforts to reduce fatalities and injuries on Tennessee highways.
Tiffany Bryant Joins Legal Aid Society as Victim Advocate in Clarksville

Nashville, TN – Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, Tennessee’s largest non-profit law firm, announced today that Tiffany Bryant has joined the team as a victim advocate for the Clarksville office.
Bryant previously served as a family advocate for the Child Advocacy Center of the 23rd Judicial District and has experience working with The Salvation Army: Joy D. Baker Center and the YWCA: Phyllis Wheatley Center. She graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in social work. [Read more]
