Clarksville, TN – After a year’s hiatus, the John Waddle Memorial Shoot will return to Montgomery County at 9:00am on Saturday, August 14th, 2021 with proceeds benefiting Clarksville’s Loaves and Fishes.
The local non-profit, which serves an average of 150 meals a day to anyone who is hungry, hosted the inaugural shoot in 2019 to honor the late John Waddle. The local homebuilder was known in the community for his passion for clay shooting and his love and support of Loaves and Fishes.

Citizens meet to discuss future of Union Community Center in Palmyra Tennessee

Montgomery County, TN – Members of the community gathered Saturday night, January 30th at the old Union Community center in Palmyra Tennessee. The meeting was a brainstorming session that focused on determining the amount of funding that would be required to restore and preserve the community center, and if it was eligible for any government grants.
Many ideas were thrown around speculating how to receive funding — whether it be county funding or federal grants for preserving historic buildings.
Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church to celebrate 150th Anniversary, May 3rd

Palmyra, TN – In 1865, Queen Victoria ruled England. Abraham Lincoln was elected to his second term in the United States. And Reverend Nute Larkins organized the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Palmyra, Tennessee. This year, the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church celebrates its 150th birthday.
The old Ebeneezer Cumberland Presbyterian Church, which was founded in 1846, was renamed Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1865. Originally, a one room log cabin in the hollow of East Creek, the early location was on the creek, subject to flooding.
