Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) grad student Melody Shipley, a ceramics artist, planned to focus on her pottery full-time, but then in 2015, she went horseback riding.

It was something she did often on her family farm, but that afternoon Shipley ended up on ground, twisting her back and dislocated a rib.

Frolic on FranklinClarksville, TN – Applications are now being accepted for booth space at the 12th annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts.”

The event will be held on Saturday, September 16th, 2017 from 8:30am to 3:30pm, in the 100-block of Franklin Street in Historic Downtown Clarksville.

Coordinated by the Roxy Regional Theatre, the street event offers 30 vendor spaces for artists to showcase and sell fine arts and handcrafted items, including photography, paintings and drawings, pottery, jewelry, glass items and more.

First Thursday Art WalkClarksville, TN – Produced by The Downtown Clarksville Association, First Thursday Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour spanning a 5-block radius that combines visual art, live music, engaging events and more in the heart of Downtown Clarksville.

With February being American Heart Month, several businesses will be supporting the American Heart Association with donations or a percentage of sales going to the association. In addition, we encourage people to participate in National Wear Red Day on February 5th and wear red to promote awareness of heart disease in women.

Clarksville’s 9th Annual ‘Frolic on Franklin’ Set for September 13th

Clarksville's Frolic on FranklinClarksville, TN – Downtown Clarksville’s 9th Annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts” will take place Saturday, September 13th from 8:30am-3:30pm.

The free event will showcase the works of more than 30 artists, staged entertainment, art demonstrations, and a doggie fashion show – all along the 100 block of historic Franklin Street.

A variety of original fine art, as well as handmade crafts, will be on display including paintings and photography, jewelry, clay garden items, wood work, purses and fabric accessories, pottery, candles, jewelry, woven and knitted items, and seasonal gifts. Items will be for sale with prices ranging from $2.00 – $500.00.

Clarksville’s 2nd annual Handmade Holiday event sees large turnout, continues Sunday, November 17th

Handmade HolidaysClarksville, TN – On Saturday, November 16th the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department put on the 2nd Annual Handmade Holidays event at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center located at Clarksville’s Liberty Park. The event kicked off at 10:00am and went until 6:00pm.

Vendors were on hand selling handmade and handcrafted holiday themed items. The event has grown from last years 40 booths to over 60 vendor booths this year.

Clarksville's Frolic on FranklinClarksville, TN – Downtown Clarksville’s 8th Annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts” will take place Saturday, September 14th from 9:00am-3:30pm. The free event will showcase the works of 20 local and regional artists, staged and roaming entertainment, artists’ demonstrations, and baked goods – all along the 100 block of historic Franklin Street.

A variety of original fine art, as well as handmade crafts, will be on display including paintings and photography, handmade toys, wood-turned items, quilts, fabric purses and totes, pottery, wreaths, hand-painted signs, jewelry, woven and knitted items, and seasonal gifts. Items will be for sale with prices ranging from $2.00 – $250.00.

Handcrafted Holidays is a new Holiday tradition for Clarksville

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The Wilma Rudolph Event Center, located at Liberty Park, played host to “Handmade Holidays,” a Crafters Bazaar which featured holiday-themed handmade and handcrafted items. It featured more than 40 booths of crafts, art, jewelry, pottery, quilts, soaps, and more.

Matthew Nixon of the Clarksville Department of Parks and Recreation said, “The idea for the Handmade Holidays event was the brainchild of the team behind the downtown market. Towards the end of the season. We knew that the market was going to be closing and we wanted to see if a craft show such as other entities have, would work here in Clarksville. So we scheduled it in the new Wilma Rudolph Event Center, and so far it’s been a huge success.”
