Clarksville, TN – The Big Bass Fishing Tournament is returning to Riverfest this year.

After Fairgrounds Park was closed for construction, the tournament was put on hold. With the recent opening of the new Clarksville Marina boat ramps at Liberty Park, the tournament will return for it’s second year to benefit the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation. [Read more]

Riverfest Regatta Cardboard Boat RacesClarksville, TN – The Riverfest Regatta, sponsored by U.S. Bank, is not your typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River Saturday morning, September 10th, will be made of cardboard and a few other approved materials. Not only will teams be racing for bragging rights, but trophies will also be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams in each division.

Competition will be in five divisions: Adult Open, Business and Industry, Church/Civic, City Department and Military. Stephen Kemmer, U.S. Bank Community President and District Manager, and his team plan to race their boat in the Business and Industry division.

Collin Raye to headline Riverfest 2011

Riverfest 2011Clarksville, TN – Join the City of Clarksville and Bud Light along the banks of the Cumberland River as they celebrate Clarksville’s river heritage at the 24th annual Riverfest Celebration, September 9th and 10th, 2011. This free, two day music and arts festival features four stages of a variety of local, regional and nationally-known entertainers, delicious food, and fun for the entire family.

The music kicks off at 5:00pm, Friday, with a great lineup of Christian performers on the Mary’s the Music Store Stage to include Britt Nicole who will perform at 9:00pm. Ekoh, Black Market Research and UZoo – The Authentic U2 Tribute Band Experience will take to the Bud Light Stage on Friday night, followed by the ultimate Journey tribute band, Chain Reaction.

Gateway to Stardom Auditions in Full Swing

Riverfest 2011Clarksville, TN – The first auditions have been held for “Gateway to Stardom” and the competition is definitely going to be tough. Last Saturday’s auditions included young artists performing country, pop and rap songs.

Clarksville Fire Rescue to Host Event on September 11th

Clarksville Fire RescueClarksville Fire Rescue will be hosting an open house prior to the September 11th Memorial Ceremony. The event will be located at Fire Station #1 at 802 Main Street from 3:00pm until 6:00pm at which time the Memorial Ceremony will commence.

There will be plenty of fun for the entire family. Children will have a great time with Tennessee Bear, Ollie the Otter, Sparky the Fire dog, search and rescue dogs and lots of other activities. The event will also include antique vehicles, a fire smoke trailer, firefighter equipment and other safety related items on display. The public is encouraged to come.

Free refreshments will be provided. The Clarksville Transit System will provide free transportation from RiverFest to Austin Peay parking lots and the fire station and then back to the Riverfront.
