Canoe and Kayak race now part of Riverfest
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s canoe and kayak race Rally on the Cumberland is back for a fifth year and is now part of Clarksville’s Riverfest.
Rally on the Cumberland will be at 8:00am on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 on the Cumberland River, beginning at the Montgomery County Conservation Club and ending at the McGregor Park boat ramp, approximately 6 miles in length.

Fan favorite is back for the eleventh year
Clarksville, TN – Sailors of all kinds are invited to enter the 11th annual Riverfest Regatta, presented by US Bank, at McGregor Park on Saturday, September 9th, 2017.
The Regatta is no ordinary boat race. Individuals and teams will compete in boats made of cardboard, plastic bottles, or other approved materials. Clarksville, TN – Registration is going on now for the Eleventh Annual Riverfest Regatta. Participants can enter as an individual or as a team for a chance to win award. The Riverfest Regatta will take place Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at the McGregor Park boat ramp. New this year, the event will take place at 1:00pm instead of early in the morning like in past races.
This boat race is not like any ordinary boat race. Participants will compete in their boats made of cardboard, plastic bottles, or a few other approved materials. There will be several divisions all racing down the 100-yard long course on the Cumberland River.

Clarksville, TN – Applications are being accepted for the City of Clarksville’s 30th annual Riverfest Celebration, presented by Budweiser. The Festival will be Thursday, September 7th through Saturday, September 9th, 2017. Vendors and entertainers are encouraged to apply online at www.clarksvilleriverfest.com
The Festival can only accept a limited number of applicants, so submit your form as soon as possible.

Chris Janson to headline Riverfest

Clarksville, TN – Riverfest, the City of Clarksville’s entertainment festival now in its 30th year, is pleased to announce Chris Janson will be the featured headliner at the 2017 Festival. Chris Janson will perform at 9:15pm Saturday, September 9th on the Bud Light Stage at McGregor Park. The concert is free and open to the public.
“Once again, the City of Clarksville is presenting a big star to headline our big-time community festival,” Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan said. “Chris Janson is one of the hottest artists in country music, and he’ll be here to push Clarksville’s Riverfest to new heights.”
Chris Janson will be performing on the Riverfest Bud Light Stage Saturday, September 9th.

Clarksville, TN – Jennifer Byard, who has distinguished herself as a leader in positions with several city departments, has been named director of the Clarksville Department of Parks and Recreation, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announced Friday.
Byard had been Assistant Director since January 2015 and served as interim director of the department after Director Mark Tummons resigned in July to take a position in Texas.

Clarksville’s Riverfest served up great entertainment and fun for everyone

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, September 10th, 2016 the 28th annual Riverfest Celebration wrapped up with all day entertainment, music, games, food and more. Riverfest gives the community a great opportunity to come down to the Cumberland River at McGregor Park and enjoy all the wonderful music with family and friends. Best of all, it’s free.
Saturday got started with the annual Riverfest Regatta at 10:00am at the McGregor Park Boat Ramp. The race consists of boats made out of cardboard or plastic bottles that race down the Cumberland River. This year, nine teams competed in three heats for awards.

Clarksville, TN – The Riverfest Regatta, presented by U.S. Bank, is not your typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River Saturday morning, September 10th were made of cardboard or plastic bottles along with a few other approved materials.
Nine teams competed not only for bragging rights, but trophies were awarded to the first, second, and third place teams in each division.
