Rivers and Spires Festival 2013 Miss River Queen and Miss River Teen Crowned

Clarksville, TN – Sarah Gross has been named Miss River Queen 2013, while Hope Parker will reign as the new Miss River Teen.
The new title holders were crowned at the pageant held Saturday, April 13th at Austin Peay State University’s Clement Auditorium.
Montgomery County Animal Control Debuts Mobile Adoption Trailer

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Animal Control and Adoption Services will be unveiling its new Mobile Adoption Trailer during the upcoming Rivers and Spires Festival, April 18th-20th.
The trailer will be parked at the corner of Hiter and Commerce Streets in the Kid’s Zone of the festival. This adoption trailer has many great features, including heat/air conditioning, running water, see-through sides for easy viewing of the animals and 22 kennels.
Rivers and Spires Festival seeking Volunteers

Clarksville, TN – The 2nd Annual Rivers and Spires Brewfest will feature more than 80 beers for you to sample on Saturday, April 20th from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
Back again after a very successful first year, the event will have craft beers, food and entertainment. Activities for the afternoon include interactive cooking shows, sponsored by Legends Bank and Publix, complete with samples for the audience to enjoy.

“We’re excited about being a part of the 11th annual Rivers & Spires Festival,” says Larry Riley, senior pastor of Clarksville’s First Baptist Church. “It’s a great opportunity for our church to partner with Clarksville in supporting our city, her families, and Christian values.”
Rivers and Spires Festival announces Joe Dee Messina as 2013 Headliner

Clarksville, TN – The Rivers and Spires Festival is pleased to announce that the Grammy nominated and CMA award-winning country musician Jo Dee Messina will be the featured headliner at the 2013 Festival. Messina will take the Public Square stage at 7:00pm as the main event on Saturday, April 20th, 2013. The concert is free and open to the public.
She will perform some of her biggest hits that made her a superstar and one of country music’s leading ladies. Songs such as “Heads Carolina, Tails California”, “Bye Bye”, “I’m Alright”, “Stand Beside Me” and “Bring On The Rain” will make up a concert you don’t want to miss.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department teaching youth about law enforcement and life

Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department is mentoring area youth who want to pursue a career in law enforcement. Law Enforcement Exploring is Learning for Life’s career education program for young men and women 14 to 20 years old with an interest in a career in law enforcement.
This work-site based program, that is fully funded by donations, helps youth prepare for their future profession by experiencing fun-filled, hands-on activities. Learning for Life, which is a division of the Boy Scouts of America, focuses on the following five areas of emphasis: Career Opportunities, Leadership Experience, Character Education, Citizenship, and Life Skills.
April Showers Drowned Out the Second Day of the 2012 Rivers and Spires Festival

Clarksville, TN – The second day of the 2012 Rivers and Spires Festival started out just as glorious as the first, but by early evening rain had forced the premature closure of the event for the day. Saturday looks to be clear and cool with highs in the high 50’s.
The 101st Airborne Division Rock band opened the day on the Strawberry Alley stage which has been overhauled for the opening of the of the Screaming Eagle Trail during a special event held at the Rivers & Spires Festival. The 13th of 16 self-guided driving tours in the Discover Tennessee Trails & Byways program, The Screaming Eagle travels 353 miles from Nashville throughout other cities in Middle Tennessee. Clarksville’s Strawberry Alley is one of the stops on the trail.
