James Horne to join new sports network

Clarksville, TN – James Horne has joined Bonehead Promotions to help launch a new sports network in Clarksville. Horne was the Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle’s Austin Peay State University sports writer and brings sixteen years of journalistic experience to the new venture.
He will anchor a new afternoon sports show on Clarksville’s only news talk sports radio station, 1400am WJZM, and be a contributing writer for Clarksville Online, and the Clarksville Sports Network.
The Lighting of Christmas on the Cumberland Signals the Start of the 2011 Holiday Season

The annual free holiday display features over 1,000,000 individual Lights in a amazing Christmas display that spans the entire length of McGregor Park in Downtown Clarksville.

Clarksville’s 5th Annual Downtown for the Holidays

The event kicks off with the Jingle Bell Jog 5K hosted by the City of Clarksville and Run for a Reason. The race will begin with a one mile fun run at 8:00am, followed by the 5K. Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Christmas on the Cumberland is sure to create lasting memories this holiday season as thousands experience the captivating displays of over one million lights! Join the City of Clarksville and US Bank as we celebrate Christmas on the Cumberland’s 13th year with a grand opening ceremony, November 22nd at 6:30pm at McGregor Park’s RiverWalk.
The grand opening will feature the official lighting of the Cumberland by Mayor Kim McMillan along with special guests, Channel 4 News Snowbird, and the jolly old man himself- Santa Claus!

Clarksville, TN – Join Clarksville Parks and Recreation this Saturday, September 17th, at Heritage Park Soccer Fields for this month’s Movies in the Park event, featuring the 2006 computer-animated comedy film, “Open Season”. It is rated PG.
The movie will begin around 7:15pm, with pre-show activities beginning an hour prior. Be sure to bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs. As always, you are welcome to bring your picnic basket, but concessions will be available.
