Leap Organization holds Annual Dining with the Stars Gala

Clarksville, TN – The 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth and business incubation program, Leap Organization hosted its annual Dining with the Stars Gala at the Riverview Inn in downtown Clarksville, Tennessee, on Saturday, March 4th, 2017.
Dining with the Stars is the annual tribute where high school seniors in the Clarksville Montgomery county community are awarded $1000 and $500.00 scholarships based on their essay submission.
Hand Family Companies sustained the gala with their $2500 donation that helped support LEAPs night of student stars shining bright.
Former U.S. Attorney General, Judge Alberto Gonzalez to Speak at Clarksville’s Dining with the Stars

Clarksville, TN – Judge Alberto Gonzalez, former U.S. Attorney General, will be the keynote speaker at the 4th annual Dining with the Stars Gala on March 4th, 2017 at 6:00pm at the Riverview Inn.
Presently Judge Gonzales is a member of the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions and he serves on the board of directors for the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
Previously he was also an appointee of Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam to the Governor’s Commission for Judicial Appointments and the Governor’s Management Fellows Executive Committee.
UPS Delivers Workforce Development Programming to LEAP Students

Nashville, TN – UPS collaborates with the LEAP Organization to educate students on job seeking strategies, best practices to retain employment and receive promotions, and the benefits associated with employment opportunities with UPS.
The goal of LEAP’s Career Readiness Program is to provide youth ages 16 to 24 with critical job skills to prepare them for entry into the workforce. Members of UPS Human Resources Department educated the students on the UPS mission and history then guided them on a tour on their warehouse facility to explain the various positions within the company.
Clarksville-Montgomery County Memorial Day Service honors those who died serving our Country

Clarksville, TN – On Monday, May 25th, the Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization held its annual Memorial Day Ceremony. Due to rain, the ceremony was held in the William O. Beach Civic Hall, Veterans Plaza in Clarksville Tennessee.
The ceremony was opened by Frank Mir, the Director of the Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization. Mir welcomed the dignitaries and attendees to the Memorial ceremony. The colors were posted by the 101st Airborne Division Honor Guard, and Stella McKnight sang the National Anthem.

Ribbon Cutting and VIP Sneak Preview held at Liberty Park Grill on Saturday
Clarksville, TN – The Liberty Park Grill opens today at 11:00am. The new restaurant serving Liberty Park held a official ribbon-cutting with the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce on Saturday in conjunction with a VIP preview of the new restaurant.
Restaurant manager Robert Bowlby took a few minutes to speak with Clarksville Online before the ceremony. “We’re so proud to be here! Clarksville is such a wonderful place, it’s a wonderful community,” he said. “My family and I are just now getting to know the area but we like what we seen so far. It has a lot of history, a lot of unique things to do like the free movies in the park, the Downtown Farmers Market, the Roxy Regional Theatre. All very unique and exciting venues for us to discover as a family.”

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday Hilldale Baptist Church played host to third annual Unity Day celebration. The goal of Unity Day is to build a stronger community by recognizing and joining together religious, governmental and business leaders in fellowship.
Unity Day was founded by Treva Gordon, the owner and publisher of the Convenient Shopper Magazine. “I was watching an awards show on television and I was so inspired by the way they honored the pop star’s and the rap artists. It was wonderful; they had the gift bags, bling bling, the limos, and everything that went with it. That was awesome!” she said to herself.
APSU to hold 2nd annual Joint Juvenile Justice Conference on Saturday

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will hold its second annual Joint Juvenile Justice Conference on Saturday, April 21st in the Morgan University Center.
The conference will take place from 8:30am-4:30pm on the third floor of the MUC.

Bill Mace Homes Encourages Youth

Clarksville, TN – On November 22nd, 2011, in the office of Bill Mace Homes, two LEAP Youth Interns were awarded Tennessee Titans tickets in recognition of their academic achievement and community outreach efforts.
Pastor Tommy Vallejos was approached by Bill Mace about developing innovative ways to encourage youth to be productive and responsible citizens. Given Pastor Tommy’s intimate knowledge and involvement with the LEAP Organization, he recommended recognizing two distinguished youth from LEAP.
